Scanner Setup

You can set the initial values of the scanner functions.

  1. Press (SETTING).

  2. Select [Admin Setup], and then press (OK).

  3. Enter the administrator password.

    The factory default password is "aaaaaa".

  4. Select [Enter], and then press (OK).

  5. Press to select [Scanner Setup], and then press (OK).

  6. Change the setting, and then press (OK).

  7. Press until the top screen is displayed.

Encrypted PDF Setting

Document Open Password

Sets the default password to open an encrypted PDF. A document open password cannot be the same as a permission password. You can enter up to 32 characters.

Permissions Password

Sets the default password to control printing or editing on an encrypted PDF file. A permission password cannot be the same as a document open password. You can enter up to 32 characters.

Display Default Password

Sets whether the registered password is displayed or not displayed on the password selection screen for the document open password or permission password.

[Disable]: Displays the registered default password using* instead of each character.

[Enable]: Displays the registered default password as it is.

Sets the timeout for printing a confirmation after transmission of Internet fax and Scan to E-mail. If the setting period of time is exceeded, the report is automatically printed without the MDN response.

Hours created (00 to 23)

Month created (01 to 12)

Minute created (00 to 59)

* The date and time when a file is created are values of the timer of MB472.

An example of file name specification (if the file format is PDF)

If specifying "DATE#n": Saved as file names such as "Data0000.pdf" and "Data00001.pdf".

If specifying "File#d": Saved as file names such as "File090715185045.pdf".

If specifying "Scan": "Scan.pdf" is created first, and then data is saved with the name of "Scan#.pdf".

For "#d", refer to the above.

When nothing is specified: "Image.pdf" is created first, and then data is saved with the name of "Image#d.pdf".

To enable the changed setting, the network card must be restarted. Follow the instructions on the confirmation screen that is displayed when changing the settings, and restart the network card.
