Block Junk Fax

You can block unwanted faxes by setting to receive faxes only from registered the speed dial numbers, or rejecting reception from specific registered numbers.

There are three ways to block unwanted faxes.

Mode

Description

Mode 1

This mode rejects the senders who are not registered in the speed dial numbers.

If the last four digits of a registered fax number match the sender ID, reception is allowed.

Mode 2

This mode rejects the senders with the numbers that are registered to [Block Junk Fax List].

Register four to eight digits of a fax number.

You can enter up to 10 numbers.

Mode 3

This mode is a combination of Mode 1 and Mode 2.

This mode rejects reception from the senders who are not registered in the speed dial numbers.

This mode also rejects reception from the senders who are registered to block junk faxes.

OFF

Junk faxes are not blocked.

White shapes indicate that reception is allowed, and gray shapes indicate that reception is rejected.

  1. Press (SETTING).

  2. Press to select [Admin Setup], and then press (OK).

  3. Enter the administrator password.

    The factory default password is "aaaaaa".

  4. Select [Enter], and then press (OK).

  5. Press to select [Fax Setup], and then press (OK).

  6. Press to select [Other Settings], and then press (OK).

  7. Press to select [Block Junk Fax List], and then press (OK).

  8. Select [Setting], and then press (OK).

  9. Press to select [OFF] or [Mode1], and then press (OK).

Register the numbers of the senders from whom you want to block junk faxes.

  1. Press (SETTING).

  2. Press to select [Admin Setup], and then press (OK).

  3. Enter the administrator password.

    The factory default password is "aaaaaa".

  4. Select [Enter], and then press (OK).

  5. Press to select [Fax Setup], and then press (OK).

  6. Press to select [Other Settings], and then press (OK).

  7. Press to select [Block Junk Fax List], and then press (OK).

  8. Select [Setting], and then press (OK).

  9. Press to select [Mode2] or [Mode3], and then press (OK).

  10. Press to select [Registered List], and then press (OK).

  11. Press to select a registered box, and then press (OK).

    Memo

    To change a registered number, select a box that has the number to change.

  12. Check that [Register/Edit] is selected, and then press (OK).

  13. Enter the last four to eight digits of the telephone number to block junk faxes by using the 10-key pad.

  14. Press [Enter].

  15. To continue registering another number, repeat the procedure from step 11.

  1. Press (SETTING).

  2. Press to select [Admin Setup], and then press (OK).

  3. Enter the administrator password.

    The factory default password is "aaaaaa".

  4. Select [Enter], and then press (OK).

  5. Press to select [Fax Setup], and then press (OK).

  6. Press to select [Other Settings], and then press (OK).

  7. Press to select [Block Junk Fax List], and then press (OK).

  8. Press to select [Registered List], and then press (OK).

  9. Press to select a box to delete, and then press (OK).

  10. Press to select [Delete], and then press (OK).

  11. Select [Yes].

    The number is deleted.

    Memo

    If you select [No], the number is not deleted, and you return to step 9.

  12. To continue deleting another number, repeat the procedure from step 9.
